Rhonda and Bill Daly visit
Rhonda & Bill Daly, founders of YLAD Living Soils, recently travelled to Dulacca, QLD with the Lachlan Hughes Foundation to share insights on the benefits of living soils and hummus compost at the third workshop for the 2025 Foundation Program.
"It was a valuable opportunity to connect with land managers and community members who share our passion for building healthier soils and stronger, more resilient landscapes," they said.

The Foundation was established to continue Lachlan’s vision for regenerative agriculture. Lachlan believed that it is possible to rebuild our soils and increase their sustainable productive capacity to withstand the challenges of rainfall variability. In turn, this would revitalize rural communities and improve the long-term economic sustainability of the grazing industry.
What began as an annual scholarship for one young land manager has now grown into a 12-month Program consisting of four in-depth modules with up to ten participants each year. The program focuses on:
- Regenerative agriculture training grounded in practical outcomes
- Capacity building and personal development for participants
- Mentoring and support from experienced professionals
This approach ensures that Lachlan’s vision continues to thrive by empowering the next generation of land managers with the knowledge, skills and networks needed to make lasting change.
Rhonda said, "We are proud to be a part of the Lachlan Hughes Foundation and its community and look forward to seeing the continued impact of these important conversations. Together, we can create healthier soils, stronger rural communities and a more sustainable future."
