The Travelling Library

The first group of participants in the LHF Program (the nine 2023 Scholars) wanted a legacy for future participants, so Sasha Treloar came up with the unique idea to share and pass on useful books to future participants in the Program. That way no one has to buy a myriad of regen ag books for their learning journey, they just borrow and share books.

Library - from the Latin word liber, means 'book'. A collection of books maintained for reading, consultation, study, and research.
A traveling library - a collection of books lent by a library or organisation for a short period of time.
Suitcase - a case with a handle and a hinged lid, used for carrying personal possessions.

After much searching Ras Hart found just the right suitcase while at Yamba - a strong, sturdy, good old one.

The idea is that each participant chooses and donates a favourite book to the library and writes their name in it. So it can now be borrowed.

However, there are Rules:
1. If you read it, you must write your thoughts about it inside.
2. Always return the book to the library, and in good condition.
3. The library suitcase stays at Dulacca Downs in the care of the Hughes family and is brought out at each workshop for borrowings and returns.

The books are mainly on regenerative agriculture, but there are also others considered valuable and insightful in there too.

What a classic example of regen ag ‘on the move’!
